Setting Expanding Groups to Open One Level at a Time
I find it more user friendly in a report if I click to open an expanding group, it opens one level down like this:

The trick for reports to open 1 level at a time is to close the expanding groups individually in Report Designer. In the example below, don’t click the 1 to collapse the row groupings. Instead, collapse row 32 first, then row 31 and save the report.
