Chart of Accounts and Dimension Design
Much of the success or frustration you experience with a Corporate Performance Management system lies in the design of your chart of accounts and dimensions. An outdated, poorly designed or implemented chart of accounts and dimension structure results in inconsistent data capture and increased manual effort in financial statement preparation and analysis. I can assist in designing a chart of accounts and dimension structure that will work for you rather against you.
Integration
Data can be integrated into Solver Cloud from multiple systems, Excel, or text files on demand and/or on a schedule. I am proficient with the most common integration points including Microsoft Azure SQL, Microsoft SQL Server (used by many on-premise systems), Intacct, D365 BC, Net Suite, Sales Force, D365 F&O and can leverage integration resources at Solver when needed.
Optimize
As your organization, the business environment and Solver Cloud change, it’s important to step back, review and update reporting and budget processes – making incremental updates or a complete re-design to ensure processes meet current needs and requirements and new functionality is adopted
Upgrade
Solver Cloud was released in 2017. If your organization is using BI360 on-premise or Solver Private Host, it is time to consider upgrading to Solver Cloud. Alternatively, an upgrade is an ideal time to optimize or implement a complete overhaul of your existing setup.
Training
Solver Cloud offers the Solver Academy which provides excellent self-paced training and certification for all modules of the system. Solver Cloud is also enabled with context sensitive help. These can be supplemented with hands on training including:
Designer workshops
learning how to build reports and input forms takes time. Building multiple reports and input templates using your data and following best practices is a great method to acquire those skills
Admin training
establish and follow procedures specific to your implementation for integration, dimension and report maintenance, report and category organization, adding users and security roles, using budget workflow or assigning budget templates
End user training
walk end users through report and input template functionality and navigation of the system
Accounting System Migration
Organizations are rapidly moving from on-premise or hosted accounting systems to cloud accounting systems. A benefit of Solver Cloud is the software moves seamlessly with the migration. However, an accounting system migration is an ideal time to review and improve your chart of accounts or dimension structure and Solver’s structure, data, reports, and input templates must also be updated for those changes.
